My name is Jody (she/her), and I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker and Canadian Certified Counsellor. In 2010 I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social Work, specializing in Clinical Practice.
I am certified in Critical Incident Stress Management and Somatic Experiencing (SEP), trained in Level 1 Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) basic training. I have additional training in Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT), Family Mediation, Restorative Justice, Clinical Supervision, Emotional Focused Individual Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.
I provide trauma counselling through the Indian Residential Schools Resolution Health Support Program (IRS RHSP) and Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program, providing trauma counselling to Residential School Survivors and their families. I also have extensive experience working with diverse cultures and Indigenous communities throughout Canada.
My approach is client-centered, drawing on my extensive training and a broad range of therapeutic methods to create a personalized approach for each client. I believe in providing an empathic and non-judgmental counselling experience, where individual differences are embraced and stories of success and resilience are created.
